About
Although Canyonlands hails from Nashville, their sound is anything but pop country. Influenced by artists such as John Denver, Train, John Mayer, and the Rolling Stones, Canyonlands brings it all together for the perfect blend of Americana soft rock.
The band may be new, but the stage isn’t. Between them, Jack Stein and Melissa Findley have spent years gigging, writing, and recording, and Canyonlands is where all of it comes together.
Melissa Findley Lead vocals
Melissa landed her first regular gig at 13 and spent her high school years singing in restaurants and bars across Lexington, all while majoring in vocal music at a performing arts high school. At 14, she played her first writers’ round in Nashville. She went on to study music at Belmont University, and now she’s back where she belongs: on stage, leading Canyonlands.
Jack Stein Guitar, backing vocals
Jack has been gigging since he was 16, playing in bands and picking up one-off gigs from high school through college. He got serious about performing and recording in Colorado, playing in two bands and co-founding the duo Steelin Hearts. That run led to hundreds of Nashville shows, including a house band gig at Live Oak on Music Row. Since then, he’s worked as a hired-gun guitarist for a range of artists and bands, and now he’s back to writing, recording, and performing his own music with Canyonlands.
Together, they are the foundation of Canyonlands.
